This print is inspired by the stones that my son and I collect on our walks next to Perthshire rivers and on the shoreline of the Forth. We’re like magpies, collecting beautiful gifts from nature like feathers, stones, shells, berries and acorns.
Urid bean makes a dusky blue-green ink when printed here, on iron dyed organic cotton sateen.
The objects, patterns and marks of this collection of soft furnishings reflect the rhythm of our life in Scotland: busy but soothing and rooted in nature wherever possible. There’s water, there’s earth, there’s minerals and there are many stones.
