Hand dyed, hand painted, hand printed and hand tied. Bound and stitched on my Great Grandmother’s manually operated Singer sewing machine.

Fully extended the screen is 163cm in length
Screen frame: Birch wood ply, birch wood dowels. Hand cut, fabricated and finished by Kirsty Mckain: Edinburgh based furniture designer maker.

Fabric Panels
Linen, organic cotton sateen, organic bamboo batting, cotton sashiko thread, textile ink, synthetic dyes, avocado dye, water and plant based binders
Bound with organic cotton sateen and linen hand made bias tape
Stitched with 100% organic cotton Scanfil thread, on an antique manually operated Singer sewing machine
Fabric panels can be removed for washing: Hand wash cool with PH neutral detergent, air dry
The fabric panels on this piece are an edition of one. However the screen design is modular and any fabric can be made into panels. Get in touch if you’d like to commission a hand printed design for your own bespoke room divider.
