Katie introduces stitching and quilting to her printmaking practice: turning her screen-printed textiles into quilts and interior objects. By combining these two processes, Katie takes the two-dimensional work of printmaking and makes it sculptural; adding the depth, movement and tactility of quiltmaking.
Perfect as an end of bed quilt, a throw for the couch, or as a large wall hanging.
Hand quilted using cotton sashiko thread, with organic bamboo wadding. Bound with organic cotton and linen on my great grandmother’s hand crank Singer sewing machine and hand finished.
