Screenprinting on Fabric is a simple and accessible technique for producing a repeated pattern or image onto fabric using layers to build the design. Ink is forced through the mesh of a screen onto the fabric using a squeegee, allowing a variety of marks, patterns and images to produce really exciting results.
Join Katie for one day or both days at Bainbridge Print Studios in South London and get an introduction to all the key techniques involved in screen printing textiles. This includes how to prepare your own designs ready for the screen; how to prepare screens for printing using hand-cut paper stencils; hand drawn images and digitally printed positives; mixing inks and more. You’ll then have the opportunity to play with colour and your own designs to create your very own repeat printed fabric.
Book the second day of the weekend and you will have the chance to build on what you have learned already, working on your own small projects from conception through to completion.
Katie will be on hand to give you tips and tricks of the trade and offer 1-2-1 advice specific to what you’d like to achieve in your projects, so you leave super inspired and ready to take your work to the next stage!
All students finish the classes with a tote bag and with a square meter piece of fabric printed with your very own repeat design to take home.
