Screenprinting on Fabric is a simple and accessible technique for producing a repeated pattern or image onto fabric using layers to build the design. Ink is forced through the mesh of a screen onto the fabric using a squeegee, allowing a variety of marks, patterns and images to produce really exciting results.
Join Katie and get an introduction to the key techniques involved in screen printing textiles. This includes how to prepare your own designs ready for the screen; how to prepare screens for printing using hand-cut paper stencils; hand drawn images and digitally printed positives; mixing inks and more. You’ll then have the opportunity to play with colour and your own designs to create your very own design printed on fabric.
